SX stainless steel enclosure
The SX is a range of stainless steel enclosures designed and certified for use in the most arduous hazardous areas.
Standard range or Custom sizes available up to 2m x 2m x 2m
The SX range of enclosures is crafted from marine-grade 316L (1.404) stainless steel and features a complete stainless steel fastening system. With a high level of impact resistance (IK10) and ingress protection (IP66/67/68 and Type 4X), this enclosure has been thoroughly tested with a deluge test (DTS-01).
Designed for effortless installation and ease of use, the SX enclosure features integrated mounting straps and an oversized hinge that allows for easy removal of the door in confined spaces. A minimal opening angle of less than 10° is required, ensuring smooth operation and preventing over-compression of the gasket. The captive lid screws control the door’s closure, eliminating the risk of over-compression.
The enclosure includes an external/internal earth stud as standard, which can be connected to the terminal mounting rail or component mounting plate. Additional earth studs can be fitted to the door and gland plates for enhanced connectivity.
Beyond its function as a terminal enclosure, the SX range can be customized with a variety of fiber optic cassettes, proximity sensors, and bulkhead connectors, expanding its applications.
The SX range is available in 14 standard sizes, ranging from 140 to 300mm deep, with removable gland plates available on all four sides or multi-connection transit systems (MCT) integrated as needed. Additionally, custom dimensions can be fabricated to meet specific requirements.

The SX range boasts a wide range of European, North American, and International approvals, along with country-specific accreditation. Each approval aligns with the various national and international standards for the safe use of electrical and fibre optic equipment in hazardous areas.
These approvals include ATEX, IECEx, CCC, ECAS, InMetro, and TR CU01.
