Always keep rated current regardless of temperature
The main advantage of HY-MAG circuit breakers over traditional thermal-magnetic MCBs is their insensitivity to ambient temperature variations. HY-MAG breakers maintain their rated current capacity from -40°C to +85°C, while thermal-magnetic MCBs only perform reliably at room temperature.
At around 30°C, thermal-magnetic MCBs can only handle about 75% of their rated current, requiring de-rating. This de-rating often leads to the need for higher-rated (and more expensive) MCBs, as well as increased costs for cables and busbar systems, along with reduced accuracy in applications.

Advantages of HY-MAG Circuit Breakers
Immediate reset after tripping
Unlike thermal magnetic MCBs, HY-MAG breakers can be immediately reset after an overload.
Dedicated products for AC and DC
HY-MAG breakers are specifically designed for either AC or DC applications to handle differences in breaking currents and prevent arc extinguishing issues.
Energy efficiency
HY-MAG breakers have about 45% lower internal resistance than thermal magnetic MCBs, reducing energy loss and costs.
No aging of the sensing device
HY-MAG’s sensing mechanism is hermetically sealed, avoiding exposure to air, humidity, and pollution, ensuring long-term reliability.
Worldwide approvals
HY-MAG products meet high certification requirements according to both European (IEC 60947-2) and American standards (UL489/UL489A or UL1077).
